NY scope of practice
New York CRNAs practice under "collaborative agreement" with a physician (anesthesiologist, surgeon, dentist, podiatrist, or osteopathic physician) per Article 139 of the NYS Education Law. Federal Medicare opt-out: NY has not opted out, so CRNAs in Medicare-billing facilities require a supervising MD/DO for billing purposes.
Bottom line
NY CRNA endorsement is slow (12-16 weeks total), no compact, and slightly below California for top-tier comp but with much lower cost-of-living outside NYC. For Westchester / Long Island / upstate roles, comp + COL ratio is excellent.
