The full endorsement route runs through the TX State Board of Examiners. At ~$146, Texas has one of the higher application fees in this compact cohort, but the fee covers a strong verification process. You'll need: completed application, ASHA CCC-SLP verification, official graduate transcripts, Texas jurisprudence exam completion, and an FBI/DPS fingerprint-based background check. Plan for six to eight weeks end-to-end. The Texas jurisprudence exam is state-specific, budget a few hours to study the Texas Health & Safety Code provisions that govern SLP practice.

Where SLP demand is highest in Texas
Houston houses the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex on Earth. Texas Children's Hospital is the flagship pediatric SLP employer in the state, with subspecialty programs in AAC, feeding, voice, and fluency.
