In brief

How to get your CRNA license in Mississippi 2026. MS Board of Nursing APRN process, collaborative agreement requirements, and CRNA salary data for Jackson, Gulfport, and Hattiesburg.

Steps at a glance

  1. Complete CRNA program and obtain NBCRNA certification

Graduate from a COA-accredited nurse anesthesia program and pass the NBCRNA NCE. Mississippi requires current CRNA national certification for APRN licensure.

  2. Hold or obtain Mississippi RN license

Mississippi is an NLC compact member. CRNAs with a multistate compact license may practice in Mississippi. If your primary state is non-compact, apply for MS RN licensure by endorsement through the Mississippi Board of Nursing.

  3. Submit Mississippi Board of Nursing APRN application

Apply online at msbn.ms.gov. Submit CRNA certification, RN license verification, anesthesia program documentation, and the $100 APRN application fee.

  4. Establish collaborative agreement with physician

Mississippi requires CRNAs to have a written collaborative agreement with a physician for controlled substance prescribing within anesthesia practice. In ACT settings, physician direction satisfies this. Independent CRNA roles require a formal written agreement.
