Louisiana CRNA License 2026: APRN Requirements, Practice Model, Salary
Louisiana CRNAs are licensed as APRNs by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Louisiana is a reduced practice state — a written collaborative practice agreement with a physician is required. Louisiana has NOT opted out of the federal Medicare CRNA supervision requirement. New Orleans is the dominant healthcare market (LCMC Health, Ochsner, Tulane); Baton Rouge and Shreveport are strong regional markets. Louisiana's CRNA shortage is among the most acute in the Gulf South, particularly in rural parishes north of I-10.
Practice Model
- Written collaborative practice agreement with licensed Louisiana physician required

Application Requirements
